Rati Frunk

What is a frunk?

A frunk (front trunk) is the front luggage compartment of electric vehicles. In many EVs, there is unused space in the engine bay. The RATI Frunk converts this area into a stable and organized storage space, freeing up the rear trunk and improving the vehicle’s overall cargo capacity.

Especially suitable for:

• storing Type 2 charging cables
• organizing car accessories

Model-specific design

The RATI Frunk is not a universal solution. Each version is designed for a specific vehicle, taking into account:

• the dimensions of the engine bay
• the factory mounting points
• the cooling and ventilation system
• the position of high-voltage components

Installation is reversible and does not require permanent modifications.

Safety and load capacity

The frunk:

• is not part of the vehicle’s structural or safety system
• does not affect airbags, crumple zones or high-voltage systems
• does not cause heat build-up in the engine bay

Maximum recommended load (depending on model): 10–13 kg, evenly distributed.

Materials and quality

• Automotive-grade ABS material
• Material marking according to ISO 1043-1 and ISO-11469
• Compliance with UN ECE R118 (Annex 6) based on the raw material manufacturer’s certificate
• Stability verified through heat exposure testing at 170 °C
• Design resistant to moisture and typical road contamination

Testing and validation

During development, the following tests were performed:

• model-specific fitment checks
• installation validation
• static and dynamic load tests
• basic vibration and durability tests
